The Kraken were in Dallas to take on the Stars for their third game of the season. Prior to puck drop, it was announced that Dunn would be out with an upper-body injury and Josh Mahura would be replacing him.
Without Dunn, the Kraken's offence struggled and felt the heat of the Stars' fast-paced offence. The Kraken managed just 25 shots and were shut out by Casey DeSmith.

The 27-year-old defender scored the Kraken's first goal of the season and picked up another assist on the power play against the Minnesota Wild in the second game of the year. Outside of Brandon Montour, no other Kraken has averaged more time on ice than Dunn.
Dunn's current status is day-to-day which can be considered a positive. He missed 23 games during the 2023-24 campaign with injuries and taking time to ensure that the injury doesn't worsen is a wise decision at the beginning of the season.
The Kraken will travel to Nashville to take on the Predators on Tuesday night, and no updates have been given about whether Dunn will feature.
