Kraken Defenseman Will Be Available Tonight Despite Exiting Early on Saturday

Seattle Kraken defenseman Adam Larsson will be available tonight against the New Jersey Devils despite exiting Saturday's game early.

The 32-year-old has played in all 40 games this season, recording a goal and seven points.

Against his former team, the Edmonton Oilers, Larsson logged just 12:03 of ice time and 16 shifts before leaving with an undisclosed injury. Whatever hampered Larsson was thankfully not long-term as HC Dan Bylsma reported that he will be available against another former team.

With Larsson missing the third period against the Oilers, Brandon Montour was asked to take on a larger role than usual, logging 13:02 of ice time in the third period alone and 29:40 throughout the game. Larsson is expected to skate alongside his usual defence partner Vince Dunn which should help Montour's ice time reduce. Both Montour and Dunn have been catalysts for the Kraken's offence.

Montour has recorded eight goals and 22 points in 39 games and Dunn has registered eight goals and 18 points in just 20 games.

The Kraken sit seven points back of the Vancouver Canucks for the second and final wild-card spot in the Western Conference. If the Kraken are going to make a push for that spot, they'll need these three defensemen to continue their strong play.
