Kevin Sauvage is reporting that Konyaspor and Standard Liege have reached an agreement for the transfer of Moussa Djenepo. The winger only returned to Standard last summer but the club are in need of a financial boost and are therefore having to sell players in order to keep things running. As a result, players like Djenepo are likely to be sold this summer. However, it appears that there is still some way to go on the finalisation of Djenepo’s move to Turkey. Sauvage is reporting that there has not been an agreement between player and the club, with a number of other sides also talking to player and Standard in view of a permanent transfer.

The skillful Djenepo rejoined Standard Liege from Southampton for around €3.5m last summer, far less than the reported €15m or so that he was sold to the Saints in the first place. The Malian international signed a deal until 2026 but Standard’s owners 777 are in a terrible situation and are looking to sell the club. In the meantime, the club itself must sell players to keep things running and try to bring in players on cheaper contracts and minimal transfer fees. The 26-year-old played 30 games for Standard last season, scoring one goal.
