Kobe Buffalomeat appears on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'

Yes, the name “Kobe Buffalomeat” is still hilarious. And the Illinois State signee is having fun himself with all of the attention surrounding it.

Buffalomeat, who signed with the Redbirds on Wednesday, appeared via satellite Thursday from Lawrence, Kan., on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” and the ensuing Q&A was full of laughs.

“Growing up everyone kind of just when I introduced myself, they always said: ’Is that really your last name?’ ” Buffalomeat said. “Yes, it is. You go to airports, grocery stores, you pay with your card, they kind of look at it, double-take and they ask my mom or me: ‘Is that really your last name?’ And we say: ‘Yeah it is.’ ”

When Buffalomeat told Kimmel he is 6-foot-7, 285 pounds, Kimmel quipped: “So nobody’s questioning the Buffalomeat at all.”

As for the Pulitzer-worthy question from Kimmel — has Buffalomeat ever eaten buffalo meat? — the offensive lineman admitted his hesitation.

“I think it would be a little bit of cannibalism,” he said. “I’ve never tried it. I’ve heard it’s good.”
