Kings Thomas to Attend NHLPA Rookie Showcase in Virginia

This years NHLPA Rookie Showcase, presented by Upper Deck, will be hosted at the Washington Capitals practice venue and will future several of the league's best prospects.

The Los Angeles Kings' representative at this event will be forward Akil Thomas.

Thomas will be one of the oldest players at this showcase but is a great representative for the Kings.

After a strong, and finally healthy, AHL season and a good showing at the NHL level late in the season, Thomas is poised for a solid rookie season.

He doesn't have the name recognition of someone like Macklin Celebrini or Cutter Gauthier, but he is a highly talented player in his own right.

Players will be photographed for trading cards and show off some of their on-ice skills at the showcase.

It is, unfortunately, closed to the public.
