With rumours circulating of a potential move to Liverpool for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Anfield Watch considers how Arne Slot’s side could line up should they secure their current transfer targets.

The Football Insider reported yesterday that Liverpool were eyeing up a late swoop for 23- year- old Kvaratskhelia after what has proved to be a fairly quiet summer window for the Reds.

However, whilst Slot’s first taste of a summer transfer window with Liverpool has been far from successful, as seen with the failure to secure the signing of Martín Zubimendi, a late move for Kvaratskhelia and other notable targets remains on the table.

The Georgian international’s agent stated in June “I don’t want people to think that Kvara wants to stay at Napoli. We want to leave, but we are waiting for the end of the Euros so as not to disturb Khvicha. The priority is to join a team that plays in the Champions League."

In contrast, newly appointed Napoli boss Antonio Conte claimed in June that “there are no doubts, it’s all clear. Kvara will stay here with us”.

The update on a potential move to Liverpool comes after a former coach of Kvaratskhelia claimed he would be better suited for Premier League champions Manchester City.

Speaking in July, Dinamo Batumi technical coach, Gela Davitadze stated that whilst he held “Big respect for Napoli,” he felt as though, should the Georgian swap Serie A for the Premier League “It would be the best solution for him. A team like Manchester City or Arsenal would be very suitable.”

Could the Reds secure the signing of Kvara?

Liverpool have also been said to obtain interest in fellow Georgian international Giorgi Mamardashvili.

The Valencia goalkeeper has been tipped with a move to Merseyside for some time after a stellar showing for his country at UEFA EURO 2024.

There are still final steps needed on payment terms and deal structure.

Fee will be €35m, sell-on clause and staying at least one year on loan at Valencia.

However, whilst it has been claimed by Spanish journalist Hector Gomez that a deal has been made between Liverpool and Valencia, it is understood that the 23- year- old may be unable to feature for Arne Slot’s side for another year.

Elsewhere, Everton defender Jarrad Brathwaite has been tipped to swap Everton for Anfield after the bookies slashed the odds of the young defender joining the Reds from 10/1 to 4/5.

I've got no doubt that Liverpool like him as a player, but I just think too difficult a deal to get done.

Speaking on the future of the 22- year- old, Everton boss Sean Dyche conceded that whilst he is “Confident that the club are going to do the best they can to make sure we’re competitive,” Everton have an “Outside picture which is quite obvious and that’s not something that I can control.”

How could Liverpool line up with their targets?

Whilst it could be some time until we see all of the above in a Liverpool shirt, this is how we imagine the Reds could line up should they secure their targets:

(4-2-3-1): Mamardashvili, Robertson, Branthwaite, VVD, Alexander- Arnold, Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Kvaratskhelia, Szoboszlai, Salah, Jota.
