As confirmed last month, the Arnault Family and Red Bull are in exclusive talks to take over Ligue 2 side Paris FC. On Tuesday, a crucial step was made as their purchase of the club nears.

Antoine Arnault is set to become the new owner of the Ligue 2 side. Initially, he is set to buy a 55% stake in the club, Red Bull will acquire a 15% share, and the current owner, Pierre Ferracci, will retain a 30% share which he will then relinquish in 2027.

A big step was taken on Tuesday as Arnault was summoned for a meeting with the DNCG – French football’s financial watchdog. During that meeting, Arnault explained his desire to purchase the club, with L’Équipe reporting that he evoked education through sport.

The objectives of the club were also evoked. Currently top of Ligue 2, Arnault didn’t state that an immediate promotion was a necessity, instead choosing to give Paris FC two full seasons under his stewardship. There will be another meeting next Wednesday, which represents the final stage. During next Wednesday’s meeting, Ferracci and Arnault will both speak and then all that will remain will be the signature to officially confirm the transaction.
