Key Figures At Inter Milan & AC Milan To Speak To Prosecutors About Relationship With Ultras In Curva Nord & Sud Investigation

Players, coaches, and club directors at Inter Milan and AC Milan will speak to prosecutors about their relationship with the clubs’ ultras.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They name Simone Inzaghi, Javier Zanetti, Davide Calabria, and potentially Milan Skriniar as those who will testify.

Over the past week, a major scandal has erupted surrounding Inter and AC Milan ultras.

Nerazzurri ultras the Curva Nord and their Rossoneri counterparts the Curva Sud have been the subject of an investigation by anti-mafia prosecutors in Italy.

The prosecutors have made nineteen arrests thus far in their investigation. They allege illegal activities surrounding matchdays, as well as mafia ties.

The most high-profile arrest of an Inter ultra was Nord leader Marco Ferdico.

Meanwhile, Milan ultras leader Luca Lucci was also among the nineteen arrested.

Now, the prosecutors are carrying out their investigations.

The prosecutors are focusing on anyone who had notable contact with the ultras under investigation.

Key Inter & AC Milan Figures To Be Questioned In Ultras Investigation

Prosecutors are aiming to determine how the Nord and the Sud have embedded themselves in Inter and Milan respectively at an institutional level.

Part of that comes down to the relationship that the ultras have had with figures at the club.

In the case of Inter, the Gazzetta report that prosecutors will question coach Simone Inzaghi as well as Vice-President Javier Zanetti.

Reportedly, ultras with the Nord asked Inzaghi for extra tickets to the Champions League final in 2023.

Meanwhile, the Gazzetta note, Milan Skriniar could also be questioned.

The Slovakian will be away on international duty during the break. Therefore, it may be tough for investigators to sit down with him.

But reportedly, the prosecutors want to speak to Skriniar regarding his meeting with ultras leader Ferdico at a bar in Milan in the winter of 2023.

The Nord published a statement about Skriniar’s decision to leave Inter and join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer after that meeting.

Meanwhile, the Gazzetta report, prosecutors will also speak with AC Milan captain Davide Calabria.

Similarly to Inzaghi, this concerns the ultras allegedly asking for extra tickets to matches.
