Following La Liga and RFEF’s confirmation regarding the fact that Barcelona cannot register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, the club are once again set for a legal recourse.

Barça ar expected to approach the Higher Council of Sports (CSD), which is the highest-standing body for sports placed by the Spanish government.

However, before Barcelona go through with this option, Barcelona may have to wait a bit.

Key dates for Barcelona’s legal recourse

As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona cannot officially send their legal draft to CSD until Tuesday.

That is because Tuesday will be the first working day of next week, as Monday is a holiday due to the Feast of Kings.

Hence, even if Barcelona send the draft now, it won’t reach the CSD before Tuesday. That is why Barça president Joan Laporta has shared disapproval that the statement from La Liga and RFEF came on a Saturday.

Nevertheless, CSD receiving the draft on Tuesday means Dani Olmo and Pau Victor’s participation in the Spanish Super Cup semifinal against Athletic Club could be a risk.

That is, of course, provided CSD does approve Barcelona’s request for a precautionary measure. Unless CSD acts fast, the verdict may not come until Wednesday.

Therefore, a more feasible date for Olmo and Victor’s return to the Barcelona fold could be January 12, when Barcelona could play a hypothetical final against either Real Madrid and Mallorca.

Should the CSD shoot down Barcelona’s appeal, the club will seek action from the ordinary courts, which will further delay the process.

Recent reports suggest Olmo and Victor are already frustrated at the club for failing to meet the promise of registration before December 31.

Therefore, it will be interesting to see how these two react as Barcelona prepare for their definitive legal battle to register the two individuals.
