A leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona will not take part in the club’s upcoming pre-season tour of the USA.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Lamine Yamal as the player in question.

Wide-man Lamine is for his part of course fresh off leading Spain to glory at the European Championships.

Afforded a starting berth in all but one of La Roja’s outings at the tournament, the gifted starlet continued to build on his reputation as perhaps world football’s standout young talent.

The fact of the matter, however, is that Lamine remains just 17 years of age.

This past season, he racked up no fewer than 50 appearances in the colours of Barcelona, yet to be afforded any kind of extended vacation as a result.

With the respective burnouts of Pedri and Gavi still a major source of contention at the Camp Nou, it should therefore come as little surprise to hear that Lamine will not be required to make his way to the United States with the rest of Hansi Flick’s squad later this month.

As per a report from Sport:

‘After analysing the situation in detail, Barça has decided that it is best for Lamine Yamal and the rest of the Spanish Euro finalists not to travel to the United States for the traditional summer tour.’

This means that all of Fermín López, Ferran Torres and the sidelined Pedri will be absent, too.
