Kevin Durant fires back at Charles Barkley's 'tiring' criticism on '60 Minutes'

Kevin Durant is a 13-time NBA All-Star and owns a pair of championship rings, but he still has his share of critics – chief among them Hall of Famer Charles Barkley.

In an interview on CBS' "60 Minutes" that aired Sunday night, Barkley acknowledged Durant is a "great player," but said he's also "part of that generation who think he can't be criticized."

That didn't sit well with the Phoenix Suns forward, who responded on social media a few hours later by replying to a video of Barkley's comments.

"This ain’t gettin tiring chuck? I’ll never respect the words that come out ya mouth fam just deal with it," he posted on Twitter.

As Durant alluded, it wasn't the first time the two basketball greats have butted heads.

In 2019, as Durant was considering his free agent options, Barkley suggested the four-time scoring champ didn't have "the mental makeup to play in New York," where he'd face constant scrutiny from fans and the media.

Then last year, Barkley told a Phoenix radio show that Durant "piggybacked" his way to two NBA titles with the Golden State Warriors and called him "Mr. Miserable" after he joined the Brooklyn Nets.

Kevin Durant was traded from Brookly to Phoenix on Feb. 8, but has only played in three games with the Suns due to injuries to his knee and ankle.

Earlier this season, the Nets traded Durant to Phoenix, where he's averaged 26.7 points and 7.3 rebounds in three games, but has been out the past three weeks with an ankle injury.

On "60 Minutes," Barkley again characterized Durant as "very sensitive," spurring a follow-up question wondering if that's a characteristic shared by many of today's NBA players.

Barkley responded emphatically: "That would be an understatement."
