Chelsea's Omari Kellyman is unlikely to get a loan move away in January.

The 19-year-old midfielder has agreed internally with staff at Chelsea that focusing on his long-term recovery from a serious hamstring injury is a priority.

It means that a potential loan move to the Championship, which had previously been a target, is currently deemed not viable.

Kellyman joined Chelsea in a £17m deal from Aston Villa but has yet to play in the first team under Enzo Maresca.

It is understood that he is nearing a full recovery to play in the Under-21s but that his re-introduction will be carefully managed.
