Kelly Stafford has a game plan in mind.

The wife of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford revealed in a recent episode of The Morning After Media podcast that she may make a strategic move ahead of the California-based team's first game in the playoffs on Monday, Jan. 13.

Kelly, 46, shared that she and her four kids — twins Sawyer and Chandler, 7, Hunter, 6, and Tyler, 4 — are sick and therefore relocating out of their home would be in the best interest of Matthew's health as he prepares to take on the Minnesota Vikings.

"I currently believe I have the flu. Two of my daughters have the flu," revealed Kelly, who said she "can’t think straight" because of it and even "passed out on a little bench in the suite" at the Jan. 5 game against the Seattle Seahawks. "We had all of our friends in town and I was a real downer."

During the podcast, Kelly said that Matthew, 36, "won't come close to [her]" because of her sickness, which she "completely" understands. "If all my kids have the flu, I don’t think we should be in this house with him," she told listeners.

"I know everyone’s like, 'Why would y’all move? There’s five of you and one of him.' Because all of his work stuff and his film room and everything is here," she continued. "So we would just get out of here. I think that is on the table right now."

Kelly added, "We have 105 fevers going around this house right now and we can’t have Matthew with that going into the playoffs," she concluded. "So we’re going to do our best to not let him get that."

Later in the podcast, Kelly opened up about whether there's a "shift in tone" during the playoffs compared to the regular season. "Not as much as people might think," she said of Matthew specifically.

"He treats it as a regular work week," Kelly explained of her quarterback husband. "Normally we would not leave because I do feel like we take his mind off of football, which you also need when you're preparing for this kind of stuff. You need your space to just get away from it."

"Considering what we're all going through, we might just have to leave," she added in reference to her family's illness, noting that "he was not happy with that suggestion" when she mentioned it. "He was just like, 'Let's just wait and see.' I'll probably sleep in a different bedroom."

The Los Angeles Rams will go head-to-head against the Minnesota Vikings in the NFL wild-card round of the playoffs. The month-long tournament kicks off on Saturday, Jan. 11 and will conclude with the 2025 Super Bowl champion on Feb. 8.

The Rams have won two Super Bowls to date. The first victory was in 2000 over the Tennessee Titans and the second NFL Championship win was in 2022 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Kelly and Matthew wed in 2015 after first meeting at the University of Georgia. Since then, they've welcomed four daughters — all who are the star QB's biggest cheerleaders and are often seen cheering him on at football games.

"I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them," Matthew told PEOPLE during a media conference in February 2022.
