Keith Yandle's insanely dangerous slash thankfully misses Monahan's digits
Sticks slashed from hands remain a common occurrence in NHL games. Normally they result in minor penalties, not suspensions. But we could have an exception to that rule.
Late in Calgary’s 4-3 victory over the Panthers on Friday and just before he slid the eventual game winner into an empty net, Sean Monahan had his stick whacked out of his hands in the most dangerous and irreverent manner possible.
Watch Keith Yandle go full north to south like he’s chopping wood while trying to chase down the Flames centre:

Thankfully no digits were harmed in the making of that empty netter. I’m not sure the human finger could survive such a spike.
