KC Current breaks NWSL record with 17-game unbeaten streak
The Kansas City Current continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 2-0 win over the Houston Dash, making their mark in the NWSL record books in the process.
The win marked the Current's 17th straight game without a loss, breaking the NWSL regular-season record for an unbeaten streak. The record was held by the 2014 Seattle Reign, whose streak spanned only one season.
The last time the Current lost was a 2-1 defeat to the Washington Spirit on Sept. 30, 2023.
Temwa Chawinga led the way with a brace in the span of three minutes, giving her an NWSL-leading 11 goals on the season.

Chawinga is one of 17 players to score goals this season for the Current, who lead the NWSL with 39 goals on the season. The next closest-team is the Washington Spirit with 29.
After finishing second to last in the NWSL regular season last year, the Current now leads the league with a 10-5-0 record. They will get their biggest challenge next Saturday, though, with a highly anticipated matchup against the also-undefeated Orlando Pride.
