Kayode dropped from Fiorentina squad as Brentford move nears completion
Fiorentina coach Raffaele Palladino decided to leave Michael Kayode out of the squad for their Serie A clash against Torino on Sunday as the full-back is reportedly closing in on a move to Premier League side Brentford.
The 20-year-old was one of Viola’s revelations last season when he made 26 Serie A appearances but struggled to get as much playing time since the arrival of Palladino, with Dodo considered the first-choice option in his position.

As a result, Fiorentina were open to starting negotiations with Brentford.
According to Violanews, the Premier League outfit would like to sign the Italy-U21 international on a paid loan, with an option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season.
However, Fiorentina are aware of the player’s potential, which is why they would like to include a buy-back clause in the deal, allowing them to bring Kayode back to the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Meanwhile, Palladino’s choice to drop the right-back from Viola’s squad for their home meeting against Torino suggests that talks are currently at an advanced stage,
