Kawhi Leonard reveals why he snubbed Norman Powell dap

Kawhi Leonard, from a distance, is hard to read. He keeps his answers to the media short, rarely displays any kind of emotion, and is generally the superstar who likes to remain behind the backdrop.

So, when teammate Norman Powell was left hanging by Leonard when he went over to dap him up before the Toronto Raptors took on the Golden State Warriors in Game 3 of the NBA Finals, the internet went wild with theories as to why he would do such a thing.

There were the ‘look at how locked in he is’ takes or ‘he’s definitely leaving’ or even, ‘know your role, Norm.’

Thankfully, Leonard made an appearance on ESPN’s The Jump on Friday and clarified exactly why he didn’t reciprocate.

“I told him right after, ‘I didn’t even know you was trying to dap me, I thought you was trying to get in a team circle,’ so, I was like let’s go over there. He’s like, ‘Alright, it’s all good.’

“I ended up giving him five daps after that.”

There you have it, folks, Leonard is a good teammate and was just caught unaware. He even furthered the weight of his resume as a good teammate by discussing eating bull penis pizza on Serge Ibaka’s cooking show How Hungry Are You? He admitted he ate it because, “If you say you’re gonna go on his show you know you’re gonna eat something crazy. So, you’ve gotta be a team sport and go after it, I guess.”

The 27-year-old also discussed his laugh, saying that he hasn’t looked to change it and that he’s perfectly fine with people having fun with it.

“It doesn’t bother me at all, that’s who I am.”

A fun guy, that’s who he is.
