Kansas State’s offensive line dealing with injuries ahead of Arizona football game

The Kansas State football team could be without one of its best offensive linemen when it takes the field against Arizona on Friday at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

Hadley Panzer, a 6-foot-4 and 310-pound blocker who has started 28 consecutive games at right guard for the Wildcats, is considered questionable to play after he suffered an injury during a 34-27 victory over Tulane last weekend.

“Hadley has been very limited up to this point,” K-State offensive coordinator Conor Riley said. “We’re going to see where he’s at today and kind of evaluate as we go through.”

At the start of the week, head coach Chris Klieman also mentioned that senior right tackle Carver Willis could miss action in the team’s upcoming game after he, too, suffered an injury at Tulane.

But it now appears he is on track to play.

“Carver has progressed really well throughout the throughout the week,” Riley said, “and he had a good day of practice yesterday. He is feeling really good.”

In the event that either Panzer or Willis are unable to play, K-State feels good about its other options in the front five.

Andrew Leingang would be next in line to block at right guard if Panzer is forced to the sideline. John Pastore would be the next man up at right tackle.

K-State prides itself on building depth on the offensive line, and both of those players have seen action before.

“I’m very, very pleased,” Riley said, “with where both those guys are at.”
