Kansas State loses two more football players to transfer portal ahead of Rate Bowl
The Kansas State football team will be without nearly a dozen players when it takes on Rutgers at the Rate Bowl later this month.
Two more K-State football players have announced their intentions to enter the transfer portal.
Carver Willis and Tre Spivey are the two most recent departures.
Willis, a 6-foot-5 and 291-pound offensive lineman, is a notable transfer. The senior started 10 games for the Wildcats at right tackle this season. He also played in all 13 games for K-State last year, making seven starts.
He will look to finish his college football career elsewhere rather than continue blocking as a member of K-State’s front five.
Spivey is a 6-foot-4 and 217-pound freshman wide receiver from Chandler, Arizona. He caught 14 passes for 160 yards and a touchdown this season. He seemed to be an up-and-coming player for the Wildcats when he had strong games against both Arizona State and Cincinnati late in the season. But he will now attempt to build off those performances elsewhere.
More K-State football players may choose to enter the transfer portal when it officially opens on Monday. For now, though, the Wildcats are expecting at least nine departures.
