Kansas Jayhawks & Missouri Tigers learn seeding for 2024 NCAA volleyball tournament
After a stellar regular season, Kansas volleyball learned its NCAA Tournament seed and opponent on Sunday evening.
The Jayhawks (24-4, 15-3 Big 12) are a No. 3 seed and will host Colgate on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
It’s a rematch for both squads, as Kansas swept the Raiders in early September. A rematch isn’t out of the norm in the NCAA Tournament. The selection committee does, however, try to prevent first and second-round conference rematches.
The winner of KU vs. Colgate will face the winner of NC State vs. No. 6 seed Florida at Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena. The No. 1 seed in the region is Louisville, and the No. 2 seed Stanford.
It’s the Jayhawks’ 13th time making the tournament and seventh time hosting.
KU isn’t the only area team that made it to the postseason. Missouri earned a No. 7 seed in No. 1-seeded Pittsburgh’s region.
The Tigers (20-8, 11-5 SEC) will face Texas State on Thursday. If Missouri wins, it’ll face the winner of Wichita State and No. 2-seeded SMU on Friday. Kentucky is the No. 3 seed in that region.
