Five things to know

1. These teams last met in 2022; Kansas lost 38-31. Kansas QB Jalon Daniels hurt his shoulder in the game. The hype leading up to that game was big, as KU had started the season 5-0 and TCU would go on to lose to Georgia in the National Championship game. TCU has won the last four matchups against the Jayhawks.

2. TCU is led by sophomore quarterback Josh Hoover, who’s had an excellent start to the season. He has completed 111 of 167 passes (69.2%) for 1,418 yards and 11 touchdowns through four games. He threw for 396 yards and three touchdowns vs. SMU but also had two interceptions.

3. The Horned Frogs’ defense hasn’t been the best. TCU is allowing opponents to score 32 points per game. The defense struggles to contain the run, as opponents have averaged 176.2 yards per game on the ground.

4. Safety Jamel Johnson leads the Horned Frogs with 32 tackles. He has 16 solo tackles and even a pass deflection. Johnson also has a forced fumble. He’s a big part of why TCU’s defense has only allowed 150 passing yards per game.

5. TCU has struggled to establish the run game this season. The Horned Frogs are averaging three yards per carry. Cam Cook, their lead running back, has 211 rushing yards and five touchdowns. He’s averaging 3.4 yards per carry, with a long run this season of 17 yards.
