The Kansas City Chiefs securing the No. 1 spot could not be better for Taylor Swift
With the Kansas City Chiefs dominating the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day, the NFL playoff situation is perfect for Taylor Swift.
Even though the red-and-gold have one more game of the regular season against the Denver Broncos on Jan. 5, it's an away game. So the likelihood of Swift — who has only attended home games this season — going is low. (She most recently skipped that Pittsburgh game.)
After Denver, it is highly probable she will be at the remaining games of the 2024-2025 season because, if the Chiefs keep advancing, two of three of them will take place at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. And the third game would be the Super Bowl in New Orleans.
Who are we to fight the alchemy?
For Swifties new to the sport, the NFL playoffs are comprised of four weeks:
Round 1: wild card (Jan. 11-13)
Round 2: divisional (Jan. 18-19)
Round 3: conference championships (Jan. 26)
Round 4: Super Bowl (Feb. 9)
Long live the Eras Tour with our enchanting book
By claiming the No. 1 spot in the AFC, the Chiefs will have a bye week during the wild card games. Round 2 will take place in Kansas City during Martin Luther King Jr. weekend.
If the Chiefs win Round 2, they will play in the conference championship at Arrowhead Stadium on Jan. 26. And if they become the AFC champs, they will advance to the Super Bowl in New Orleans on Feb. 9.
Good luck charm?
Call it what you want, but the Kansas City Chiefs are unstoppable with Swift in the crowd. Granted they have a 15-1 record, but they are 7-0 with the "Reputation" singer in the stands:
Sept. 5: Chiefs beat the Ravens 27-20
Sept. 15: Chiefs beat the Bengals 26-25
Oct. 7: Chiefs beat the Saints 26-13
Nov. 4: Chiefs beat the Buccaneers 30-24
Nov. 10: Chiefs beat the Broncos 16-14
Nov. 29: Chiefs beat the Raiders 19-17
Dec. 21: Chiefs beat the Texans 27-19
The only home game Swift missed this year was on Dec. 8 when she wrapped her record-shattering Eras Tour.
