Kansas City Chiefs NFL draft picks 2024: Full list of team's round-by-round selections

Here is a 2024 NFL draft pick-by-pick breakdown for the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs:

Round 1 (No. 28 overall, from Bills) — Xavier Worthy, WR Texas: Naturally, the champs acquire the fastest player in combine history after a deal with Buffalo – which seemed to be the receiver-needy team. Worthy's 4.21 speed should fill a need for K.C. following the loss of deep threats Mecole Hardman and Marquez Valdes-Scantling while complementing free-agent arrival Hollywood Brown. But don’t short Worthy’s chops as a receiver after he averaged 66 catches and better than 900 yards during three seasons with the Longhorns. He'll probably need to add to a 5-11, 165-pound build to survive in the pros. But the off-field uncertainty around second-year WR Rashee Rice likely also motivated this selection. Draft tracker

Round 2 (63, from 49ers) — Kingsley Suamataia, OT, BYU: Could get a shot at what's essentially a vacant left tackle job with 2023 starter Donovan Smith unsigned. Suamataia might also be a valuable swing option given the struggles of RT Jawaan Taylor last season. Draft tracker

Round 4 (131) — Jared Wiley, TE, TCU: The 6-foot-6, 249-pound Wiley has 4.6 speed in the 40-yard dash. That combination of athleticism along with reliable hands (one drop in 59 career games) makes him a potential rotational tight end early on. His competitiveness in blocking situations is a good sign he can develop into a contributor with Kansas City's infrastructure. Draft tracker

Round 4 (133, compensatory selection from Bills) — Jaden Hicks, S, Washington State: Hicks was the top safety on some draft boards thanks to his fantastic tape and solid size. He can fit in any scheme and will be an asset for Steve Spagnuolo and company to develop into a starter as they have with many young DBs recently. This may be one of the best value picks of the round. Draft tracker

Round 5 (159, from Cowboys) — Hunter Nourzad, C, Penn State: Nourzad started at right tackle, left guard, and right guard before moving to center in his final season at Penn State. His strength is solid but not overwhelming and he uses his smarts and technique to stay in position. Kansas City could develop him to back up all three interior offensive line positions. Round 6 (211, compensatory selection from 49ers) — Kamal Hadden, CB, Tennessee: Kansas City adds another cornerback to the young defensive core with one of the better coverage cornerbacks in 2023, per Pro Football Focus. He lacks top-end speed but the coverage skills are there and ball production as well. The Chiefs could quickly use him zone coverages and develop from there. Draft tracker

Round 7 (248, from Bills) — C.J. Hanson, G, Holy Cross: After picking up Hunter Nourzad in Round 5, the Chiefs get another backup interior offensive lineman with Hanson. He started 38 games at right guard in college and his quickness in the run game provides a solid foundation. He will need to get stronger to compete against NFL defenders in pass protection.
