Kansas City Chiefs injury update entering Pittsburgh game: 2 out, 2 questionable

Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones (95) sacks Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O’Connell (12) in the second half on Friday, Nov. 29, 2024, at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Chiefs will be without safety Chamarri Conner and left tackle D.J. Humphries for Wednesday’s game at the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Defensive tackle Chris Jones, who missed two days of practice this week with a calf injury, was listed as questionable for the game that will kick off at noon Central Time.

Jones, who ranks among the NFL’s top defensive tackles, hasn’t missed a game since he sat out the 2023 season opener in a contract dispute.

Conner suffered a concussion two weeks ago and remains in the league’s head-trauma protocol. Humphries injured a hamstring in his Chiefs debut against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 14.

Since then, the Chiefs have used Joe Thuney, one of their starting guards, at left tackle.

Also listed as questionable, with a knee injury, is right tackle Jawaan Taylor. Last week, Wanya Morris played the final 20 snaps at right tackle in the Chiefs’ victory over the Houston Texans. Morris, who has started 10 games at left tackle this season, could play on the right side against the Steelers.

Steelers wide receiver George Pickens is expected to play Wednesday after missing the previous three games with a hamstring injury. But Pittsburgh cornerback Joey Porter Jr. is out.
