Kansas City Chiefs’ Chris Jones joins exclusive company as postseason honors pile up

Three Chiefs — (from left) guard/tackle Joe Thuney, defensive lineman Chris Jones and center Creed Humphrey — were selected to the Players All-Pro team this week.

Three Kansas City Chiefs continue to pile up honors for their play during the 2024 NFL season.

Defensive tackle Chris Jones, left guard Joe Thuney and center Creed Humphrey were named first-team All-Pro by The Associated Press.

Cornerback Trent McDuffie was selected to the second team.

It’s the third such honor for Jones, who recorded five sacks and 74 quarterback pressures during the regular season. Only six Chiefs had more first-team All-Pro nods: Bobby Bell, Johnny Robinson and Jim Tyrer with six each, Tony Gonzalez with five and Buck Buchanan and Travis Kelce with four apiece.

With his second appearance, Thuney becomes the first Chiefs guard since Brian Waters in 2005 to be named All-Pro. Thuney played three games at left tackle late in the season as the Chiefs were sorting through injury and performance issues on their offensive line.

Humphrey is the first Chiefs center to be honored as first-team All-Pro.

The same three players were voted to the NFLPA All-Pro team earlier in the week, and each has also been named a starter for the AFC Pro Bowl Games team.

McDuffie, a third-year pro who came up with his first two career interceptions this season., was a first-team selection as a slot cornerback last year.
