Arsenal forward Kai Havertz has already matched his Premier League output for Chelsea in far fewer appearances, after his latest goal on Saturday.

Kai Havertz scored Arsenal’s fourth goal in a dominant display for the Gunners on Saturday, with Mikel Arteta’s side ultimately winning the match 5-2.

The goal turned out to be relatively important in the context of the match, with West Ham scoring twice to peg Arsenal back to 4-2 in the 40th minute. Nerves really would have been jangling if Havertz had missed his shot and the score had been 3-2 with 50 minutes to play.

But more than that, the goal was also significant in terms of Havertz’s Arsenal career.

Havertz now has 26 goals and assists in 49 Premier League games since signing for Arsenal, which is the exact same number he managed in three full seasons for Chelsea. But he made 91 league appearances with them, so he’s achieved the same total in 42 fewer games.

Admittedly, Havertz wasn’t always a starter for Chelsea, but the stats are still heavily in Arsenal’s favour in per-minute terms. Havertz played 5,910 league minutes for Chelsea, and he’s up to just 3,720 with Arsenal.

So the German international has contributed a goal or assist every 227 minutes for the Blues, and every 143 minutes for the Gunners. That’s a difference of 84 minutes, almost an entire game.

And that’s not to mention the fact that Havertz only really started scoring for Arsenal after his move to centre-forward in February of this year. He had five goals in six months before that, and 18 in the nine months since (even including the summer break).

In all competitions, Havertz still has some catching up to do. He managed 44 goals and assists in 139 games for Chelsea, and he’s at 31 in 70 matches for Arsenal. But with 69 games and just 13 goal contributions to go, he’s on the right track.
