Juventus target Victor Lindelof for summer transfer
Juventus are considering making a move for Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof this summer.
Having arrived at Man United in 2017, Lindelof has struggled to rise through the ranks at Old Trafford, never becoming a regular starter for the club.
This season has proven no different, with the Swede making just four Premier League appearances this season, all of which were off the bench, making for a combined 58 minutes. (Transfermarkt)
Clearly not hitting his heights at United, The Peoples Person discussed reports claiming that Lindelof will likely leave the club at the end of the current season.
If recent reports are to be believed, Lindelof will become the latest player to leave United as a free agent.
Today, Tuttosport reported that Juventus are considering making a move for Lindelof this summer.
“Among the various profiles recommended to the Old Lady to replace the injured Gleison Bremer, Victor Lindelof has emerged, whose contract with Manchester United expires on June 30 and who has so far taken the field sparingly,” the Italian outlet reported.
“The former Benfica player fared a little better in the Europa League, where he played twice, collecting 145 minutes on the pitch. In short, his adventure around Old Trafford seems to be coming to an end. For this reason, a possible early departure cannot be ruled out, should a top-level solution emerge.”
The report claimed that a deal between Juventus and Lindelof appears likely due to the player’s representatives having strong relations with Cristiano Giuntoli, the sporting director of Juventus.
Still, even if Juventus express their interest in the Swedish defender, United may be spoilt for choice if other reports are to be believed.
AC Milan has been linked with Lindelof, with the Serie A giants poised to make a move for him in January when he becomes free to negotiate with foreign clubs.
Former United manager Jose Mourinho is also believed to be interested in reuniting with Lindelof by luring him to Fenerbahce.
With Ruben Amorim recently taking charge at United, it will be down to the Portuguese manager to determine what he wants to do with Lindelof, largely depending on his plans for the club.
