Juventus produced a late second-half comeback to claim a 4-4 draw with Inter in Sunday’s Derby d’Italia thriller.

Scorers: Zieliński (PEN) 15′ (PEN) 37′, Mkhitaryan 35′, Dumfries 53′; Vlahović 20′, Weah 26′, Yıldız 72′, 82′

Piotr Zieliński broke the deadlock by wrongfooting Michele Di Gregorio from the penalty spot after Danilo had clumsily kicked at Marcus Thuram in the area.

The Bianconeri pulled level just five minutes later when Weston McKennie brought down Juan Cabal’s cross for Dušan Vlahović to sidefoot home from close range.

Thiago Motta’s side took the lead midway through the first half through Timothy Weah sliding past Yann Sommer after Francisco Conceição slalomed into Inter’s box.

But the reigning Italian champions struck back with two quickfire goals, first courtesy of Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s squeezed finish after playing a one-two with Thuram.

Zieliński soon restored their lead by beating Di Gregorio with another penalty won in near-identical fashion as Pierre Kalulu kicked out at Denzel Dumfries.

The second half produced more goals as Dumfries scored in his own right by drilling in a fourth at the far post from a flicked on corner shortly after the interval.

There was still time for a late twist as Kenan Yıldız sparked a Juve fightback in the closing stages by closing their deficit with a low-spun effort to have the beating of Sommer.

He repeated the trick with a sweeping finish inside the area which proved too hot to handle for the Inter stopper as the points were shared at the San Siro.

Little separates the sides in Serie A’s second and third spot respectively but Inter’s gulf to leaders Napoli has now stretched to four points.
