Juventus goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio fondly remembers his Inter Milan stint despite failing to make a senior appearance at Giuseppe Meazza.

During his recent interview with RAI Sport, as reported by FCInterNews, the 27-year-old holds the Nerazzurri in high esteem, even though he lacked first-team opportunities.

Michele Di Gregorio climbed through the ranks at Inter Milan.

He graduated from the club’s youth academy but never had a chance to showcase his qualities on the grandest stage.

Instead, the reigning Scudetto holders often sent him away on loans to gain experience and regular first-team action.

His last loan spell at Monza established the Milan native as a reliable shot-stopper in Italian football.

Di Gregorio spent two years at the Stadio Brianteo as an Inter loanee, helping the club earn its first-ever Serie A promotion.

Subsequently, Monza would go on to acquire his services permanently in 2022.

After two eye-catching top-flight campaigns, the former Inter starlet joined Juventus this summer.

The record-time Italian champions paid the Biancorossi €4.5 million for a season-long loan with a mandatory buyout option set at €13.5m.

He has enjoyed a stellar start to life in Turin.

Indeed, after the opening seven Serie A rounds, Juventus have only conceded once, accounting for the league’s best defensive record.

Therefore, Luciano Spalletti has included Di Gregorio in his Italy squad for October’s call-up.

Di Gregorio is pleased to be part of the Juventus squad, saying: “I’m happy to be at Juventus, to have found the coach, the staff and a club like this.”

However, he has fond memories of his time at Inter.

“I did the whole journey in the youth sector with the Nerazzurri.”

Everyone around the club was supportive as he suffered the tragic death of his father.

“I found nice people, they were close to me when my dad left me.”

“I still feel them, on a human level I am very attached to the people I met there.
