Juventus enter make-or-break territory of Benfica’s Antonio Silva
Serie A giants Juventus have now entered a make-or-break period for Benfica centre-back Antonio Silva.
Gianluca di Marzio has reported that today will be a vital day for Juve in their move for the Portuguese, who is represented by Jorge Mendes.
Silva is the first name on their shortlist for defenders and the player has already given an approval to a transfer. Juve had made an initial offer to Benfica but it was rejected.
But today, there is a meeting involving Mendes and the Benfica management that could bring about more progress in the move. The agent is likely to push for an exit from Benfica on terms that are favourable to the Bianconeri this month. He will look to do just that in the meeting later today.
He has already spoken publicly about Juve’s liking for the player, who is followed by Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo on the Bianconeri’s shortlist.
