Juventus needed a late own goal to edge past a Lazio side who played over an hour with 10 men, beating Mauricio Sarri's side 1-0 to maintain their unbeaten start to Serie A.

The Bianconeri struggled in the early part of the game but were handed a massive opportunity to take three points when Alessio Romagnoli was shown a red card after a VAR review, reducing the visitors to 10 men after just 24 minutes.

It meant that the game took on a very different pattern, with Thiago Motta's side dominating the ball and probing a stubborn Lazio defence for openings.

But despite seeing two thirds of the ball, Juve headed into the break not having managed a shot on target, with centre-back Gatti firing their best chance high and wide.

It was the same story for much of the second half, with Juve not registering their first shot on target until the 81st minute as Dusan Vlahovic tested Provedel.

But as they pushed for a winner, they were gifted a goal five minutes from time as a cross from the left was put past his own goalkeeper by Lazio defender Mario Gila.

It was a goal that handed Juve all three points, and condemned Lazio to their first defeat of the season.
