Juventus coach Motta reacts to comparison with Allegri: I ‘focus’ on one thing
Juventus coach Thiago Motta insists he’s ‘not bothered’ by comparison with his predecessor Massimiliano Allegri: ‘I’m only focused on my work.’
The former Italy international released an interview with Amazon Prime Video Italia ahead of this evening’s Champions League game against Manchester City.
Juventus are still unbeaten in Serie A but collected nine draws in the opening 15 league fixtures. They have eight points in the league phase of the Champions League with two wins, two draws and one defeat.
Juventus’ inconsistent results and playing style have prompted Italian media and some Juventus fans to compare Motta with his predecessor Allegri, but the Old Lady’s boss is not bothered.

“Nothing bothers me. I perfectly accept all honest judgements, but I won’t enter this story,” he said, as quoted by Ilbianconero.com
“I am only focused on my work: improving the team and helping my players. The rest doesn’t count much.”
Pep Guardiola praised Motta during a press conference on Tuesday. The Manchester City tactician insisted that all new coaches need time, so Juventus should trust Motta and his vision for the club’s long-term future.
Motta signed a three-year contract at the Allianz Stadium last summer after leading Bologna to a historical Champions League qualification.
