🎥 Just another record-breaking afternoon for Sunderland's Chris Rigg 🔥
Chris Rigg's star continues to shine, with the 17-year-old's goal for Sunderland at Blackburn making Championship history.
The midfielder incredibly made his debut for his hometown club just under two years ago, and has since become a key player for the Black Cats.
His equaliser at Ewood Park was his sixth goal in the second-tier, which is unsurprisingly the most for anyone under the age of 18.
Another record-breaking afternoon for Chris Rigg 👏
♦️ A league record sixth @SkyBetChamp goal before his 18th birthday
♦️ Levelling the game at Ewood Park
♦️ Scoring in front of 7,500 supporters— Sunderland AFC (@SunderlandAFC) December 27, 2024
Despite turning the game to lead 2-1, Sunderland could not hold, conceding a 90th minute leveller.
The result leaves them in fourth place, ahead of their Boxing Day opponents, and right in the mix for promotion, which they might just need to keep their rising local star.
