Juric: ‘Roma full of confidence, Soule and Koné can do well’
Ivan Juric says his team are confident and mentally prepared for Sunday’s Serie A clash at home against Venezia, and hopes that two of his young starters can kick on after promising starts at the Stadio Olimpmico.
Today’s match between Roma and Venezia kicks off at 14.00 BST. You can follow all the action as it unfolds on the Football Italia liveblog.
Juric: ‘Soule and Koné can do well’ for Roma
In the absence of Paulo Dybala, who is struggling with fatigue, Juric has named Lorenzo Pellegrini and summer signing Matias Soule in Roma’s trequartista roles.
“He’s full of confidence, he can do well,” the coach said when asked about the young Argentine.
On the test against Venezia, Juric said: “For us it’s an important test, we played on Thursday, but mentally, we are ready. We want to repeat what we’ve shown in the last two games.
“They play good football, like all of Di Francesco’s teams. They’re aggressive, it will be a great battle,” he said while previewing Sunday’s opposition.
Juric is also excited to see what Manu Konè can bring to the table after an encouraging series of performances at the start of his Giallorossi career.
“He has a bit of everything, strength, long legs, technique. I really liked him against Bilbao, that was a nice surprise. We need to work with him a lot, but he’s a guy with great prospects, like Pisilli.”
