🇩🇪 Julian Nagelsmann signs surprise contract extension with Germany

Julian Nagelsmann has extended his contract with the German national team until 2028.

Nagelsmann's original contract was set to run until 2026, and his extension has come as something of a surprise.

The former Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim coach took charge of Die Mannschaft in September 2023, and guided them to a quarter-final berth at EURO 2024, where they were eliminated by eventual winners Spain.

The 37-year-old will now steer his nation towards the 2026 World Cup, and likely beyond.
