Jim White revealed the identities of the worst 10 Manchester United he has ever witnessed, with one active Red landing on the list.

The veteran author has been following the club long enough to recall the golden era with Sir Alex Ferguson in charge, but also some of the abysmal epochs that preceded the Scotsman’s appointment.

So writing for The Telegraph, White put up an interesting list that includes modern forwards who misfired during their time at Old Trafford, as well as players from previous eras that the younger generation of United fans might have never heard of due to their lack of achievements at the club.

The journalist named Alexis Sanchez as the absolute worst striker he had ever seen in the famous Red jersey after failing to replicate the feats that rendered him a fan favourite at Arsenal. The Chilean left the club after 18 forgettable months, joining Inter Milan in the summer of 2019.

Wout Weghorst landed in the runner-up spot, as the sensation was that the giant striker was only signed because he was ‘Dutch enough’ for Erik ten Hag. Leo Messi’s old nemesis fired blank in 17 appearances.

Radamel Falcao completes the podium, having joined several years removed from his prime years at Porto. Garry Birtles (from the early 80s) and Ted McDougall (from the 70s) were picked for the 4th and 5th places respectively.

Odion Ighalo is sixth on the list after enduring a forgettable brief loan spell at Man United, while Joshua Zirkzee represents the current crop of Red Devils, landing in 7th place. The Dutchman has been enduring torrid times since joining the club in the summer, and was even cheered off by his own supporters against Newcastle United. Peter Davenport, Diego Forlan and Dion Dublin rounded up the unsavoury list.
