Joshua Roy Injured
With Emil Heineman set to miss three to four weeks following a traffic accident and Michael Pezzetta being unable to contribute any meaningful amount of ice time, the Montreal Canadiens are expected to recall a forward from their AHL farm team, the Laval Rocket and they might do it before tonight's tilt with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Last night, after going down 2-0 against the Utica Comets, the Rocket rolled up its collective sleeves and got to work. Logan Mailloux got Pascal Vincent's men on the board in the second frame, Florian Xhekaj tied the game up halfway through the third and Owen Beck scored the game-winning goal with five minutes left to the duel.
While the Rocket won the game and left Utica with the two points, they lost Joshua Roy to what looked like a fairly serious injury in the second period.

Roy is the Rocket's top scorer this season with 27 points in 33 games, closely followed by Alex Barre-Boulet who has 26 points but in only 29 games. There's been no official word about the Canadiens calling up a forward, but it would make sense for them to do so. If they are indeed thinking about doing it, one has to believe Roy would have been one of the strong candidate to fill in for Heineman.
That's not to say the Canadiens lack options however, the above mentioned Barre-Boulet has 70 NHL games on his resume already and could be a possibility, just like center Owen Beck who scored the game-winning goal last night and has 25 points in 36 games.
However, since the Canadiens are missing a fourth line winger who plays with an edge, Jared Davidson (24 points in 33 games) stands as the logical choice. If the Habs want a bit more grit, Luke Tuch could also make sense. The six-foot-two and 215 pounds left winger packs a punch and had 35 penalty minutes in his 28 games while picking up 11 points.
