Jonathan Quick Proving To Be The Best Backup Goalie In NHL
Jonathan Quick may be 38-years-old, but he still has the ability to play at an elite goaltending level.
The New York Rangers defeated the Detroit Red Wings 4-0 on Saturday night, entirely due to the brilliance of Quick.
The Red Wings edged New York 37-24 in shots while they maintained more offensive possession time.

However, Quick kept the Rangers in the contest and helped carry the team to their ninth victory of the season.
He recorded a 37 save shutout, which marks his 61st career shutout.
Quick was tested throughout the night as he made multiple point-blank saves and the Red Wings just couldn’t figure him out.
At this point, Quick has to be considered one of if not the best backup goalie in the entire NHL. There is a lot of attention on Igor Shesterkin and deservingly so, but Quick deserves some of that spotlight as well.
As far as the rest of the team went, both Artemi Panarin and Adam Fox had multi-point games with Chris Kreider and Jimmy Vesey also found the scoresheet.
The Rangers play next on Tuesday night against the Winnipeg Jets.
