While the hustle and bustle of the world football transfer window has slowed significantly with most clubs fully settled into pre-season preparations, there are still some marquee names seeking big moves this summer.

One of those names is Canadian striker Jonathan David, who has been garnering attention across Europe after three wildly successful seasons with France's LOSC Lille.

David finished third in the race for the Golden Boot in Ligue 1 last season with 24 goals, and has netted 58 goals in 136 total games in all competitions for Lille. He helped lead Les Dogues to the league title in the 2020-21 campaign, the club's first league triumph in 10 years.

Suitors have been lining up since last summer to get their hands on the prolific and versatile 23-year-old, and David seems closer to a big-money move than ever.

Here are some of the rumoured teams linked to David, as well as the latest reporting on their pursuit of the Ottawa product.

Juventus

According to Football Italia, Juventus have shown significant interest in signing David, especially if they successfully offload striker Dusan Vlahovic. Juve are looking to sell Vlahovic for somewhere between €70-€80 million, and would then look to use that money to meet Lille's €60 million price tag for David.

The Old Lady is in desperate need of a purposeful youth movement, and pairing David with Federico Chiesa and fellow North American forward Timothy Weah could be a big step in the right direction for Juventus' resurgence towards to the top of the Serie A table.

West Ham

West Ham are another club keen on bringing David into the mix. The Canadian international would provide some certainty to an area of the pitch that David Moyes' squad are desperate to solidify, with strikers Gianluca Scamacca, Michail Antonio and Danny Ings all considering moves out of West London.

The Hammers are coming off a bizarre season in which they won the UEFA Europa Conference League title, but finished 14th in the Premier League table. They could also use a big splash like David to ease fans' pain following the departure of beloved captain Declan Rice to Arsenal.

While the idea of playing in England would undoubtedly appeal to David, West Ham will hope that their top target isn't snatched up by a bigger club like Juventus before the transfer window shuts.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham are another London club with an eye on David, with Spurs considering the Lille frontman to be the replacement for star striker and captain Harry Kane, should he move on after weeks of speculation.

Tottenham would be happy to meet Lille's asking price for David should the need arrive, but the move hinges on whether Kane completes a transfer to German giants Bayern Munich, who are aggressively pursuing the 29-year-old.

David would be a good fit for new manager Ange Postecoglou, and could link comfortably with star winger Son Heung-Min to develop a lethal partnership for a club in need of a bounce back campaign.
