Jon Jones is back. The 31-year-old Jones will return to UFC after a year and a half away, and his first fight is a big one. Jones will take on Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 232 for the light heavyweight title, according to Ariel Helwani of ESPN.
The fight will take place Dec. 29 in Las Vegas.

Daniel Cormier currently holds the light heavyweight title, but will be stripped of that title the moment Jones and Gustafsson start throwing punches, according to Helwani.
It will be Jones’ first fight since July 2017. Following that fight, Jones was suspended for 15 months after violating UFC’s anti-doping policy for the second time. In September, an arbitrator ruled that Jones did not knowingly take a banned substance. His suspension will officially end Oct. 28.
It will be the first time Jones and Gustafsson have faced each other since 2013, when Jones beat Gustafsson by a unanimous decision.
