Johnston Looks To Put Up Points In Matchup With Vegas

The Dallas Stars have been searching for a consistent scorer to compliment Jason Robertson and Evgenii Dadonov following the injury to Tyler Seguin. Wyatt Johnston has answered the bell for the Stars in recent games with rattling off a five-game point streak.

Wyatt Johnson is coming off a season in which the 21-yr old forward took another step forward in his offensive growth by scoring 32 goals and 65 points. The Ontario native has continued where he left off by scoring 37 points, 11 of which coming by way of goal. Johnston is in the midst of a five-game point streak, during which he has tallied 7 points.

While the Stars have not been able to convert three of their last five games into wins. Dallas will take comfort in knowing that Wyatt Johnston has proven that he can be a source of offensive production. The Stars will have to sort out who they can rely on for the long term as the NHL Trade Deadline approaches. Dallas will be at the center of the conversation at the deadline as they will be looking to add some grit and some scoring.

The NHL Trade Deadline comes to an end on March 7th at 3pm. The Stars currently have $1.7 million in salary cap space and could add more if they decided to list Tyler Seguin on LTIR. Seguin is expected to miss the rest of the season after sustaining a hip injury.

The Stars look for a chance to bounce back following a 2-1 loss to fellow Stanley Cup contender, the Carolina Hurricanes. The Stars will be back in action tomorrow night as they wrap up their homestead with a rendezvous against another Stanley Cup contender, the Vegas Golden Knights.
