Joe Burrow's game-ending kneel was soul-crushing for some fantasy football managers with playoff hopes
Week 14 was the final week of the regular season in most fantasy football leagues, which begin their playoffs in Week 15. That means Monday night's game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys was the last game and last opportunity for some fantasy managers to clinch a spot in the postseason -- or miss out.
For some managers, it literally went down to the wire.
The last play of Week 14 ended up being a kneel by Joe Burrow to kill the clock on a Bengals win. Because Burrow is the fantasy QB3 this season, he's rostered almost everywhere, so that knee for a loss of a yard -- or -0.1 fantasy points in most formats -- ended up making and breaking a few seasons.
The Burrow QB kneel (-0.1 points) to end the game was the difference between making the playoffs and not making the playoffs, for both these teams in my league 😂🔥 pic.twitter.com/ZQbmbzwZ4g

Knocked out of the fantasy playoffs on a Joe Burrow knee… by .04 @SleeperHQ pic.twitter.com/mu9hacCPFW

Worst outcome in the 10 year history of this league. A team lost the match to #12 seed and missed playoffs because of Burrows final kneel down. Dropped from #4 to eliminated @MatthewBerryTMR #fantasylife pic.twitter.com/ncPQoU1IPu

Didn't happen to me... but to someone in my league. Joe Burrow's kneel at the end of the game cost this guy a playoff spot. Had it ended in a tie, he would've been in. pic.twitter.com/UMjxftZSyA

This type of thing is exactly why I took a break from fantasy football a few years ago.
