Joe Burrow wins season championship, Jared Goff second in 27th year of Miami Herald NFL QB Rankings

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow wins the 2024 season championship in the Miami Herald’s 27th year of NFL QB Rankings.

CINCINNATI”S JOE BURROW WINS FIRST SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP, DETROIT’S JARED GOFF IS RUNNER-UP FOR SECOND STRAIGHT YEAR TO COMPLETE 27TH SEASON OF MIAMI HERALD NFL QUARTERBACK RANKINGS: The Bengals narrowly missed the playoffs but Joe Burrow sails to his first career season title in the Miami Herald’s 27th year of NFL Quarterback Rankings. Burrow’s season total of 656.90 points is the fifth-highest total in the chart’s history. The 600 plateau is rarefied air, with Burrow and second place Jared Goff of the Lions (622.45) marking only the 12th and 13th times 600 has been reached. Goff is runner-up for the second straight year. Denver’s Bo Nix wins the season-ending Week 18 title and vaults to eighth place on the year. Miami’s Tua Tagovailoa ends in 16th place despite missing six of 17 Dolphins games. The Herald’s Passer Success System (PASS) rankings began in 1998 with Steve Young the inaugural season winner. Our cumulative system rewards players who are consistently productive and avoid injury or benching. Because the rankings are cumulative (not percentile-based), players on a bye week took a temporary hit that evened out over the course of a season. Our ratings formula factors accuracy, passing yardage, touchdown/interception ratio and team result. These are passer ratings per se and do not include a QB’s running statistics. The final top 50 for the 2024 season:
