Joan Laporta provides update on Barcelona’s return to the Camp Nou
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has on Saturday provided a fresh insight into the club’s ongoing efforts to return to base at the Camp Nou.
Renovations, of course, have long been underway at Barcelona’s beloved home ground.
Amid efforts to bring the Camp Nou in line with some of football’s most modern stadiums, the Blaugrana brass green-lighted a major makeover, which will see everything from stands, facilities and fan experience upgraded.
The hope has long been that the venue will be opened to fans towards the end of this year, albeit at a reduced capacity of around 60%.
Speaking during a media appearance on Saturday, the subject of as much, in turn, was put to the aforementioned Joan Laporta once more.
And, in his response, Barcelona’s president went on to confirm:
“We’re working hard to return to the Spotify Camp Nou at the end of the year or the beginning of next year, depending on our schedule. We’ll announce the return date soon.”
