Yes, Florida coach Jim McElwain was asked about the naked shark photo at SEC media days.

You likely remember that a photo surfaced earlier this spring of a nude man on top of a shark. Some people thought the man bore a resemblance to McElwain and the jokes about it being McElwain got to the point where Florida was even asked if the man was the third-year Gator coach.

Of course, the man wasn’t McElwain.

Tuesday, McElwain took his turn at the podium at media days. And one of the questions he fielded was about the craziness of the shark photo. While McElwain said he “loved” the humor in the joke, he took offense when the jokes got personal.

“I love the humor in it and yet, you know, what it did that not only attacked the university, but it attacked my family when you know it’s not you. You know, I bust chops with the best of them and yet when it got personal … ” McElwain said as he trailed off and left an awkward silence in the ballroom.

The shark wasn’t the only animal McElwain was asked about either. He spent some time this summer at his lake house in Montana and said a bear walked through his breezeway.
