Jason Kelce blasted Bears on MNF: 'Chicago has to prove they belong in the NFL'
The Chicago Bears are not just on an eight-game losing streak, they're now the a national laughing stock after another flat performance in prime time.
In three of their four national spotlight games, the Bears have failed to score at least 20 points on offense, and have lost all four. Those games were a Sunday Night Football matchup against the Houston Texans in Week 2, a late-afternoon game against the Washington Commanders on CBS in Week 8, a Thanksgiving embarrassment against the Detroit Lions, and this Monday Night Football debacle against the Minnesota Vikings.
During the halftime show of Monday night's loss to the Vikings, ESPN analyst and retired Super Bowl Champion, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, didn't hold back on Chicago. At halftime, trailing Minnesota 13-0 with multiple questionable coaching decisions and no offense production, the Bears were torched by Kelce who urged Chicago to show that they belong in the NFL.
"Chicago has to prove that they belong in the NFL," he said.
It is a brutal, yet, acceptable challenge for the Bears who are the second team since 1990 to enter their bye week two or more games over .500, and then have an eight game losing streak after their bye. If one recently retired player turned analyst could point out an organization's failures, Kelce fits the bill after spending his entire 13-year career with the Philadelphia Eagles, seeing both up and down seasons, but winning a Super Bowl in 2017, while being selected to the Pro Bowl seven times, and being named an All-Pro six times.
The good news for fans who enjoy watching fun football is that the Bears only have three more games remaining in their schedule. Unfortunately for the Bears, they'll face three playoff-contending teams in the Lions, Seattle Seahawks, and Green Bay Packers. Now up to having an eight-game losing streak, it's a fair question to wonder if the Bears will get another victory this season. I
n the end, Chicago lost 30-12 to the Minnesota Vikings, and were able to put up at least one touchdown, a garbage time touchdown pass from Caleb Williams to Keenan Allen, but there's no telling if the Bears earned their place and showed they belong in the NFL.
