Jaquan Brisker reacts to Bears hiring Ben Johnson as head coach
The Chicago Bears are finalizing a deal to hire Ben Johnson as their 19th head coach in franchise history, according to multiple NFL insiders.
It's a move that's been met with praise by fans and media members alike, and reactions from Bears players are already starting to trickle out. Quarterback Caleb Williams liked the NFL's post announcing the news in roughly three minutes. Meanwhile, safety Jaquan Brisker took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his excitement.
"Boom!" Brisker tweeted, along with a gif that read "It's about, sending a message."

In a second tweet, Brisker shared his thoughts about how he believes this Johnson hire will turn things around.
"This is the turning point," Brisker wrote. "New times! Let's get it. #DaBears"

Just one day prior, Brisker made it clear that he's looking for the "best" coach, but he preferred an offensive-minded coach so that once the team dominates and wins, said offensive coach would stay.
Johnson was widely considered to be the top candidate in this coaching cycle, and Chicago faced competition from the Las Vegas Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars during this process. But Johnson reportedly was eyeing the Bears job last offseason, before the team opted to retain Matt Eberflus for a third season, which ended with his firing after a Thanksgiving meltdown.
