With the deadline for underclassmen to declare for the NFL draft fast approaching on Jan. 16, a handful of notable decisions announced their decisions on Tuesday.

On the heels of winning the national title, Clemson running back Wayne Gallman made it known that he is leaving before his senior season to play professionally. Gallman was largely bottled up Monday night against Alabama, gaining only 46 yards on 18 carries, but he scored a big touchdown in the fourth quarter to give the Tigers a 28-24 lead.

Clemson, of course, went on to win 35-31 on a last-second touchdown pass from Deshaun Watson (who also is going to the NFL) to Hunter Renfrow.

Gallman gained 1,133 yards and scored 17 touchdowns as a junior. In 2015, he rushed for 1,527 yards and 13 scores. Overall, Gallman finishes his Clemson career with 3,429 yards and 34 touchdowns rushing along with 65 catches for 473 yards and two scores through the air.

In the Big Ten, Wisconsin offensive lineman Ryan Ramczyk also announced he will forgo his senior season to declare for the NFL draft. Before Wisconsin’s bowl game, Ramczyk, a 6-foot-6, 314-pound tackle, told reporters he received a first-round grade from the NFL Draft Advisory Board.

Ramczyk is leaving school early despite recent hip surgery. Ramczyk told Wisconsin’s website that he won’t be able to test at the NFL combine, but said there was “less damage” to the hip than initially expected.

“The surgeon said there was less damage than he expected and it went well,” Ramczyk said.
“I won’t be able to test (physically) at the (NFL) combine, but I’ll be there for all the interviews and test and measurements. It’s a big decision, but with this opportunity it’s pretty difficult to pass up.”

In Yahoo Sports’ Eric Edholm’s most recent mock draft, Ramczyk was selected No. 19 overall by the Tampa Bay Bucs.

Another offensive lineman, Florida State’s Roderick Johnson, is also going pro. The 6-foot-7, 311-pound Johnson started 31 games at left tackle for the Seminoles over the past three seasons.

Johnson was pick No. 36 to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Edholm’s mock draft.
