Jamie Redknapp makes stunning Tottenham relegation claim after humiliating 2-1 loss to Leicester
Things are going from bad to worse for manager Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham Hotspur.
The Lilywhites slumped to a fourth consecutive defeat in the Premier League as Leicester City came from behind to seal a 2-1 win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Postecoglou’s men were on course for a comfortable home victory when Richarlison opened the scoring just after the half-hour mark.
But the Foxes made a stunning comeback in the second-half to turn the game on its head.
Jamie Vardy levelled the scores from close range before Bilal El Khannouss curled in a superb effort from 25 yards in the 50th minute.
Spurs desperately tried to find an equaliser but Leicester held on to secure an excellent victory, ending a run of seven consecutive losses in the English top-flight.
The latest result means Tottenham have picked up only four points from their previous 10 league matches.
Former England international Jamie Redknapp says that is relegation form, but he doesn’t believe the club will be in a relegation battle this season.
Redknapp expressed his views on Sky Sports: “Right now that’s relegation form. Are they going to be in the relegation fight in the season? Absolutely not, I don’t think that’s going to be the case. But I think they are tracking for, sort of, pretty much a point a game. It is just not good enough.”
Tottenham have been enduring a huge injury crisis this campaign. Dominic Solanke became the latest victim after he sustained a knee issue in training, ruling him out for six weeks.
Spurs are already without the services of Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Destiny Udogie, Timo Werner, Wilson Odobert, Guglielmo Vicario and Brennan Johnson as they are all in the infirmary.
But despite the injury issues, their performances have been absolutely awful in recent weeks. They should at least be picking full points against teams that are battling relegation.
