Jake Walman Remains Game-Time Decision Against Devils; Sharks Could Play 11 Forwards 7 Defensemen

Jake Walman participated in the San Jose Sharks morning skate but will be a game-time decision against the New Jersey Devils.

Will Smith also won't play as part of his development plan. Walman took the first line rush of the morning with his usual partner, Cody Ceci, but Jack Thompson took a turn with Walman out the second time through.

When asked about Walman, Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky said the defenseman is a game-time call with his upper-body injury.

"There's a possibility, yeah," Warsofsky said about dressing 11 forwards and seven defensemen.

Thompson wore a yellow powerplay jersey when the Sharks ran special team units and rotated with Walman on the second unit.

Ty Dellandrea is getting a boost in the latest line combinations. The forward is projected to skate on the Sharks' top line with Macklin Celebrini and Tyler Toffoli.

"Just a guy that can skate. He's got some speed. He gets in on pucks. [I'm looking for him to] hunt down some pucks. I think he's got a little offensive ability as a first-round pick here, and I'll just see if he can help balance our lines a little bit."

Puck drop is at 7 p.m. ET at the Prudential Center in New Jersey.
